A Game Of Thrones - By George R. R. Martin


The story is set in the medieval ages in the fictional continents Westeros and Essos, and told through multiple perspectives in each chapter. One of the perspectives is of the Stark family who are the main family of House Stark, located in the fort Winterfell, the lord Ed Stark is called to be the Kings Hand as the previous one had been slain, which is basically the bodyguard of the king. A member of the Stark family, Jon Snow is taken to a place called the wall, which is a big wall made of ice where they keep all the people that commit minor crimes. The wall is the only place that separates them from the north, where it is infested with dangerous undead beings called white walkers. In Essos which is the continent split from Westeros by the Narrow Sea, a woman called Daenerys, part of House Targaryen, is sold off to a leader of the Dothraki, called Khal Drogo by her brother Viserys in-exchange for some men for his army. The story snowballs from there and it gets very intense. You'll have to read the rest of the series to figure out what happens.

WALT: Combine simple proportions to work out what parts the whole is made up in a unit We learnt how to calculate percentage increase and decrease. If you want to calculate percentage increase, you have to find the percentage difference between the two numbers you are comparing and divide the difference by the original number and then times it by 100 and convert that decimal into a percentage. For example: What is the percent of decrease of 16 to 14? The way you would solve this is find the difference between the original number and the new one. 16 - 14 = 2. Divide 2 by 16 which equals 0.125. Multiply that by 100 and it equals 12.5%, So its a 12.5% decrease. WALT: Combine proportions to work out what parts are whole is made up of using non multiples of 10. We learnt how to calculate how much the percentage increased or decreased in number. At student council we took our next steps to making our ice cream day happen. We learnt that the PTA (Parent Teacher Association) had planned a massive sausage sizzle on the exact same day so we had to decide whether or not we were gonna cancel, in the end we ended up postponing the ice cream day and moving it to a later date which has not been decided yet. We decided on buying the small individual tubs and we had to figure out if they included spoons, and after some emails, we figured out that there was indeed spoons included with the tub.
