PE Striking And Fielding

WALT: Apply Striking and Fielding activities in a range of sports and activities. My Strengths The striking strategies I was able to effectively demonstrate during the games we played were standing on a good stance that would keep me balanced when batting and keeping my eyes on the ball as it headed towards me. The throwing and catching strategy I was able to effectively demonstrate during the games we played were keeping the eyes on the ball unless it went high up. My Next Steps To improve my striking of a ball I need to keep a firm and correct grip when batting because it would create a more powerful hit. To Improve my catching and fielding I need to cup my hands as soon as possible once I'm in the right position to catch because if I didn't, it would probably fall out. The game that I enjoyed the most was Danish Rounders because it was fast paced and fun and it helped me with my striking skills.

I can identify and evaluate the way writers use language and ideas to suit authors purpose

Thinking Map Follow Up Practice Follow Up We learnt what the three authors purpose which was; P ersuade,  I nform, E ntertain By watching three videos that explained what they were Here  and we did a thinking map where we looked author's language that the author would use in their article. Then we looked at two articles that ranged from all the three purposes.

Order Fractions With Unlike Denominators, finding a common denominator

I can gather, evaluate, analyse and summarise information and ideas across a small range of text

My Evaluation Information Chart We used an evaluation info chart to find different sides of the flag change, whether you wanted or don't want it to change. We read 3 articles ranging from changing the flag to not changing the flag. We use the info from these articles to put on the Evaluation info chart. I think I did pretty well at identifying the ideas and categorization but bad at finding which side was stronger in reason.

Teaching Kākano Students Games

Today All the year 8 & some year 7's taught the Year 0 & 1 simple games that they could play at break. Me and Joseph T  taught our group how to play Giant's Treasure  which was a Sneak up on granny & grandma's keys-esque game. It was a fun game that some of the juniors enjoyed.
