This week for my role, I had to contribute to the Run Bike Run by helping out. One of the things I had to do was (along with the Deputy and Head Girl) say a speech about the Run Bike Run. Charlotte talked about the Kauri Whakatauki and trying your best, I talked about Rubbish and the Care Values and Anneke talked about general stuff and opened the Run Bike Run. Another job we had was helping out with the medal ceremony, which had some awkward moments. A privilege we had was free roam around the track, which was mainly used to help out and encourage them in the races. The Care Value I think I showed during this event was Excellence, as alot of us didn't know what to do during the medal ceremony and had to improvise.

WALT: Combine simple proportions to work out what parts the whole is made up in a unit We learnt how to calculate percentage increase and decrease. If you want to calculate percentage increase, you have to find the percentage difference between the two numbers you are comparing and divide the difference by the original number and then times it by 100 and convert that decimal into a percentage. For example: What is the percent of decrease of 16 to 14? The way you would solve this is find the difference between the original number and the new one. 16 - 14 = 2. Divide 2 by 16 which equals 0.125. Multiply that by 100 and it equals 12.5%, So its a 12.5% decrease. WALT: Combine proportions to work out what parts are whole is made up of using non multiples of 10. We learnt how to calculate how much the percentage increased or decreased in number. Excellence Care Values 8

At student council we took our next steps to making our ice cream day happen. We learnt that the PTA (Parent Teacher Association) had planned a massive sausage sizzle on the exact same day so we had to decide whether or not we were gonna cancel, in the end we ended up postponing the ice cream day and moving it to a later date which has not been decided yet. We decided on buying the small individual tubs and we had to figure out if they included spoons, and after some emails, we figured out that there was indeed spoons included with the tub. We then looked at the prices and did calculations to find out how much money we would pay and how much we would gain from an estimate, these were our calculations and they are probably not correct: Prices If we bought 9 cartons of 125ml 24 pottles: For each flavor $1.14 per pottle excluding GST $1.31 per pottle including GST If we bought 648 pottles: For all flavors $849.56 including GST $738.72 excluding GST Profit $771.12 for $2.5...
