Term 1 Integrated Learning: Leadership Reflection

We have been learning all about What makes a good leader.

We identified that good leaders show 6 main character traits. These are Integrity, Resilient, Trustworthy, Motivational, Goal Focused and Active Thinker.
The leadership trait that I think I show the most is Trustworthy because people can trust me to choose the right place to do my learning and that I will get it done.

The leadership trait I would most like to develop is Motivational because it would be helpful in the future.

Something NEW I have learned about leadership is that the definition of leadership is basically the skill of being able to motivate an individual or team towards a goal.

The SOLO level that I reached during this unit of learning is Extended Abstract because I can say who is a better leader using information from sites and books like I did in my exposition writing.

My next step in learning about leadership is to apply everything that I have learned about leadership to my own leadership roles.

Art Mural

What: We have been working with Room 1, 2 and 11 to complete our mural for the school. So What: My group did Buzzy Bee and I was happy about the face and how it turned out. Now What: I would take out the black mark on the lower left corner of the board and do another coat on the antenna and the ball.

Excellence Care Values 4

Last Thursday we had to go to technology at Lincoln Primary School. The pentad I am currently in is textiles and design. My plan was to originally sew a big banana plushie but I'm not very good at sewing so I just tried to make things with clay. My figure I was gonna make was a hot dog I did most of the figure but halfway I figured out that the head wasn't looking too much like a dog so I let Milan try and reshape it but she figured out it didn't look too much like a dog at all either. So we tried to reshape it. Then  we figured out that we didn't have any colour for the bun, so we tried mixing multiple colours together. It didn't really work out since the clay was so hard it didn't work. Then we hd to go to Mandarin and we revisited some words we did before. The learner quality I showed was resilience because I kept on trying to sew the banana plushie but it didn't really ever work. The care value I showed was excellence because I kept trying to do it.

Merit Care Values 5

Technology This week on Thursday we had technology and on the penultimate session of science, we had some fun with lego mindstorms, which are robots that you program and do fun things with. We initially started building the lego mindstorms, some people tried to go off by their imagination but Melahkye and I decided to go with an instruction booklet that taught us how to build a basic robot. The building process was pretty easy so we got to programming fairly quickly. We taught our robot how to move in a square so the next challenge would be so it won't go out of the square when moving around. It didn't work that well as there was something wrong with our motor but Natasha and Savannah's worked. I think the care value I showed was Active Thinking as the programming stage was fairly challenging and confusing.
